Pascal Marchand, together with Moray Tawse, created Domaine Tawse and the Marchand-Tawse merchant house. The Quebecois winemaker, who arrived in France in the early 1980s, made a name for himself at major estates before striking out on his own: Clos des Épeneaux in Pommard, followed by Domaine de la Vougeraie in Nuits-Saint-Georges. In 2006, Pascal Marchand established his own business before partnering with businessman Moray Tawse. With the first vintage in 2010 and the acquisition of Domaine Maume in Gevrey-Chambertin, the estate now spans 8 hectares and vinifies some of the finest terroirs of the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune.
Domaine Tawse and Maison Marchand-Tawse offer a remarkable range of the finest Burgundy crus, including great white wines: Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Saint Romain, Rully, Pouilly-Fuissé, Corton-Charlemagne… and a constellation of the greatest Burgundian Pinot Noirs: Chambolle-Musigny, Chambertin, Clos de Vougeot, Clos Saint Denis, Corton, Morey-Saint-Denis, Pommard, Volnay, Musigny… Pascal Marchand draws significant inspiration from biodynamics to harvest healthy grapes. Domaine Tawse thus produces upright, silky wines that are respectful of their terroir.
