An iconic estate of the Rhône Valley, Domaine Vernay is renowned for its Côte-Rôtie and Condrieu wines.
Christine Vernay, who has overseen the estate’s management and winemaking for over 20 years, succeeded her father in 1996 (Georges Vernay, recognized for saving the appellation and the Viognier grape variety) and her grandfather (Francis Vernay), who founded the estate.
The estate, with its steep hillsides, is now fully certified in Organic Viticulture, cultivated with passion and dedication.
The estate now comprises 24 hectares planted and cultivated, including 17 on hillsides (steep slopes), distributed across 3 appellations: Condrieu (10 ha), Côte-Rôtie (6 ha), and Saint-Joseph (2 ha), and 2 IGP Syrah and Viognier (6 ha).
Organic viticulture certification, meticulous vinification, regular plantings and massal selection of vines… Christine Vernay has elevated it to the highest ranks: recognized as an exceptional winemaker, some of her wines have been awarded the prestigious 100/100 rating.
